Alberta Diploma Exams Now Only Worth 30 Percent

The province is changing how much of a student’s final mark is determined by their diploma exam. As of September 1st, the tests will only count as 30 per cent of a student’s final grade, instead of 50 percent.  The province feels that this will help provide a more accurate reflection of student performance. The first diploma exams that will be written under the new grading system will occur in November of this year.
