Katie Couric’s Shocked Reaction Learning She’s Going To Be A Grandma — And How Was Taylor Swift Involved? Katie Couric will become a grandmother for the first time! The journalist posted when she learned her daughter, Ellie Monahan, was pregnant. In the video, Couric sits outdoors with Ellie and her other daughter, Carrie, 27, before attending a Taylor Swift Eras Tour event earlier this year.  Carrie gives her a clue with a friendship bracelet, a Swift fan tradition: “Brand, Brandy, B, Granny …” the former “Today” show co-host says, “Granny to be.” Katie told her followers she was “dying to tell” them.
