Number of Overweight Children to Double in the Next Decade

More than 41 million children under age 5 worldwide are overweight or obese, a number the World Health Organization is saying will rise to more than 70 million during the next decade. The report sites children’s environments, increasingly saturated with marketing for unhealthy foods, driven by globalization and urbanization, as a major factor for obesity around the world.
